Innovation, proposal, information are just a few of the objectives of Up To Date Collection – to be held from October 18 to 19 at the Stazione Leopolda Exhibition Center in Florence.

The event, created to present the latest flash proposal in fabrics for spring/summer 2008 and updates on the connections for fall/winter 2008-2009, provides an additional service for the textile and apparel market. 37 brands, the exhibitors coming from the Prato area and northern Italy.

A few new concepts will characterize the next edition: UP TO DATE makes two special new instruments available to exhibitors and visitors, two services targeted on information and creativity: the Trend Area and an event-area called Work In Progress.

The Trend Area of Up To Date is the result of cooperation between the Trend Research Center of Pratotrade and A.N.G.E.L.O. – the house of vintage founded in 1978, that is both a historic archive with over 50,000 items of apparel and accessories, including many unique designer labels, representing the development of fashion from the beginning of the past century to the present, consultable as stylistic use, and a second-hand clothing store. On the occasion of the fair, a number of pieces from the historic archive, selected on the basis of the trends for S/S 2008 and F/W 2008-2009 will be on display at the entry to the fair in a special setting created by Irene Guzman and Luca Trevisani, projected by Massimo Petri.

Work in Progress is the performance created and produced by the students of Fashion Design at the Polimoda Institute of Florence. During the event, a number of aspiring young designers will experiment live with new forms by draping mannequins with the latest fabric proposal presented by the exhibitors. They will also provide a service of creative consultation, with sketches produced on the spot, interpreting the fabrics presented at the stands, at the request of the exhibitors and visitors.

A date not to be missed! See you in Florence.
